Red China rapidly stocking arms

Jakarta - China's development of certain classes of weapons and lack of clarity over its military intentions appear to contradict Beijing's stated peaceful aims, the head of the United States Pacific Command said on Thursday.Admiral Timothy Keating said Washington intended to hold more dialogue to get a better understanding of China's aims and did not want to isolate the rapidly growing East Asian power."We've expressed to them our concern for their development of certain kinds of weapons - area-denial weapons and satellite technology and the growth of their submarine force for example," Keating told a news conference in the Indonesian capital.

A Chinese General said two thousand years ago that war is the art of deception. Let us not be deceived into thinking China has peaceful intentions.

Oklahoma City bombing a personal memoryand three perspectives

My wife and I drove past the Murrah building and the rental truck at 5 minutes to 9am on the fatal day. My business "Pager Mart" was located then on West Main at Classen and we had just paid my phone bill at the corner of Broadway and 9th street (the time on the receipt from SW Bell was 8:52). She dropped me off at the shop and a customer was waiting on me. As we entered my shop the bomb went off. We ran outside and saw the smoke coming from over the police station which we thought had been hit. My customer was an RN and we jumped in his pickup and headed toward the smoke. As we neared the Murrah we met several wounded and bleeding older people and drug them into the pickup bed and I stayed in back holding them in because they were addled. We took wounded to Saint Anthony and the Doctors and Nurses a hundred strong waived us in and took the wounded. It was a day when Oklahoma City stood tall.
We both received letters of commendation from the Mayor and City Council which adorn my office. I can still well up tears for that dark day and the crying souls at the Murrah wreckage frantically searching for loved ones.

My daughter bought a home recently that a mother never came home to and her husband planted a Survivor tree clone in the front yard. It is an honor to have it there.
