The strange story of Democratic fat cat donor Norman Hsu is rich and revealing, but it certainly isn't the only controversy that puts the lie to the Democratic claim to have ended the culture of corruption. Other embarrassing developments include the fine assessed to Americans Coming Together, the group backed by Democratic donor George Soros; the New Jersey corruption scandal that has cast a wide net over state Democrats; and Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton's legal troubles with former donor Peter Paul.
The New York papers, even the Times, are giving the Hsu story significant coverage, since it involves a home-state senator. But the scandal is getting very little TV coverage, and the other stories even less.
By one count, each of the big three broadcast networks did one in-depth story about the strange case of Hsu, and one follow-up. But nothing is being done so far in the major media to suggest this is a scandal that reflects badly on the Clintons.
This could easily change, however, as the powerful New York Times could decide that the latest scandal is an indication that Senator Clinton carries too much baggage to be a viable Democratic presidential candidate. Will the paper then pull the plug on Hillary and carry the banner for Senator Barack Obama? Only time will tell.
Funny Money
The Hsu story began in August when the Wall Street Journal exposed the more than $1 million that this "businessman" had donated to or bundled for Democratic candidates, with the largest amount going to Hillary Clinton's campaign. There is strong evidence suggesting that Hsu has been making donations through other people, such as the Paw family in the San Francisco area, in which the head of the household, who earned about $50,000 a year as a postman, and other members of his family, gave more than $200,000 to Democratic candidates and organizations. The house that is listed as their residence used to be owned by Hsu.
Hillary's campaign tried to make the story go away by stating its intentions to give to charity the $23,000 that Hsu had personally contributed to her campaign. It says it is now planning to give back all $850,000 that Hsu, who also served as a board member of former President Clinton's Clinton Global Initiative, had solicited for her campaign. The Washington Post reported that "Clinton officials said that the senator, acting out of 'an abundance of caution,' had directed the campaign to return donations from about 260 contributors tied to Hsu because of his apparent involvement in an illegal investment scheme."

One thing is becoming clear as elections come and go...the GOP can forget about attracting the black vote. If you are not black you do not know what words to use and the die is cast for the other party... No matter what the party of Lincoln does and says the overwhelming majority of African Americans continue to vote for the Democrats. Bush has appointed more African Americans to high office than any President before him and blacks hold him and Republicans in low repute.
Perhaps I am not qualified to judge the negative reaction to the the word 'articulate' as used by President Bush because I have never suffered the discrimination that blacks have. (Biden was out and out raciest in his remarks) I can see some similarity in the slams that some out of staters post about "dumb Okies" and perhaps if someone said I was was articulate for an Okie it would bother me...nahhhh. I have seen several blacks on TV using the Okie word in a disrespectful manner and we shall overcome. After all Oklahoma has won two national beauty titles in a row and pretty is more important. Both candidates were beautiful and articulate Okies.
Is Islam Evil?
an essay
by Jason Pappas
March 5, 2004
"Sophisticated" critics usually react to the word "evil" with condescension and derision. Describing something as "evil," in their view, generally brands one as an unenlightened throw-back to the dark ages -- or the equivalent of a televangelist preaching hellfire and damnation. Who forgets the outcry when President Reagan described the Soviet Union as the "Evil Empire?" Or today, when President Bush refers to the "Axis of Evil?" Commentators unequivocally condemn the word as an outmoded judgmental term unfit for today's multi-cultural world. Unless, of course, one wants to use it to describe the United States of America or Western Civilization itself.
The question, "Is America evil?" is routinely discussed not just on message boards and in chat rooms -- the Internet equivalent of bathroom walls -- but by tenured professors and in respected newspapers. A New York Times book review on January 11, 2004, quotes author Lance Morrow from his book: "Evil, An Investigation". "Americans are struggling now with the possibility that their country may be evil -- or, to be more practical, that their country may be doing evil in the world." Just two weeks later, the front page of Book Review section reads: "Is America an evil empire? Seven new books seem ready to think so."
Most Americans are shocked at the notion of an evil America. Considering our history, the attack on our country's character is hard to fathom. Over the last two centuries immigrants came in droves, seeking refuge from tyranny and poverty. They found unequalled freedom and opportunity secured by a stable democracy. During that time, totalitarian barbarity threatened to consume the world. America played a crucial role in defeating European and Japanese fascism in WWII. However, Europe was left in ruins and half enslaved by Communism. In Asia, Japan was in ruins and China soon became Communist. We then faced the Communist strain of totalitarianism; one that would result in the deaths of 100 million people and threatened to engulf the world. Once again, our military might was crucial. We contained Communism until it fell of its own internal contradictions. In short, America has saved civilization.
Given the recent worldwide attacks by Islamic terrorists, why isn't the question "Is Islam evil?" With few exceptions (Turkey, for example), Islamic countries are fascist, autocratic or theocratic, where women are subjugated and minorities persecuted. Islamic countries are rife with poverty and have been for centuries. Polls show that in many Islamic countries a majority of Muslims lionize the man responsible for the atrocities of September 11th and the terrorist gangs who routinely slaughter civilians in Israeli buses and restaurants. In Arab schools and on Arab television, children are taught the glory of becoming suicide bombers. Almost everywhere that Islam borders other cultures, there is violence.

As I have continued to monitor liberals blog comments for the psst few weeks I am amazed at the hate for Christians by the posters. Not all of course but half or more will constantly makes fun of family values and virtue as expounded by Christian. Some call Christians Snake handlers referring to a group of a few hundred in the world that go overboard on the basis of one scriptural reference to an isolated event in scripture. Some lump all into the extreme tele evangelist money raising crowd. I do not see how a believing Christian could feel comfortable if the Democratic party is composed of such haters as I find on blogs such as Hounds and Capitol Talk and others you can link to from those two.
While I am not looking for the eminent return of Christ and the apocalyptic events of Revelations to jump out in the next few years I am reminded of the words of Jesus and the New Testament that referred to the end times loss of values. As I recall our Lord said that in the end times the detractors would call evil as good and good as evil. That scenario is seen strong and clear in statements on the liberal blogs as people say that Christians who oppose abortion are guilty of being evil for that opposition. When Christians support the death penalty imposition as the right of human government to punish those guilty of capitol crimes the antagonists say that this support should not exist in the same arena as the Christian pro life view.
I have spent my whole life in the company of Christians of various denominations and find them to be honorable tho divided in their approach to morality. Certainly in the believing Christian community we have those who drop by the wayside and are exposed for human failings from time to time but that does not erase the commonality of holding to the message of Jesus Christ in whose steps can be found the answer to man's search for peace, hope and charity for Adam's race.
We are told that "each in his own time" and that we are not to root out the "tares" that grow along with the wheat but are to take our stand and be ready to give every man an answer for our faith in the Creator. We can do no less and the barbs that come our way must be chalked up as our contribution to the "fellowship of His sufferings".

"The bleak outlook of a major new report (United Nations sponsored) on climate change shifted the onus onto governments, even mankind, to take action, with dire warnings Friday from around the world that drastic, rapid change is needed, not least from the United States. "

If the democrats want to win the White House is 2008 they have an outstanding candidate in the race in Governor Richardson. He is appealing to a broad spectrum of the voters and has proven himself outstanding in every position he has held in our country. He is a an excellent administrator and has captured the admiration of the conservatives in his latest job as Governor of New Mexico. Give him a moderate vice presidential running mate from an eastern state and you have a winning ticket.
from wikipidea
William Blaine "Bill" Richardson (born November 15, 1947) is an American politician, a member of the Democratic Party, and a potential 2008 candidate for President of the United States.[1] He has served as a congressman, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and U.S. Secretary of Energy; he is presently the Governor of New Mexico. He was chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention that nominated John Kerry for the presidency, as well as Chairman of the Democratic Governors Association in 2005 and 2006, overseeing the Democrats' re-capturing of a majority of America's governorships.
While Governor, Richardson has been lauded by traditionally right-leaning publications and organizations such as Forbes Magazine and the CATO Institute for reforming New Mexico's economy. In 2006, Forbes credited Richardson's reforms while naming Albuquerque, New Mexico the best city in the U.S. for business and careers. CATO has consistently rated Richardson as one of the most fiscally responsible Democratic governors in the nation.

Bush was not even born them so you can't blame him. Few automobiles were putting around Tishomingo .Will Rogers and Wiley Post were among a dozen or so flying airplanes around the state. The weather then and now was just going thru normal oscillations.
Weather talk has become a political tool of the left and they would have us believe that the human race is ruining the planet. The earth has seasons that can be measured annually or multi-annually so never fear the snow will come again this year.

For the past few days I have spent time reading the posts and comments on a liberal anti Fox news blog started by people that were on George Soros payroll (perhaps still are) at http://moveon.org .
The site is constantly moderated and posts that are objectionable are deleted without apology. That is certainly ok for the one who pays the IP to do but what will surprise you is the criteria for deletion...you probably thought that foul language or calling some one names would be involved and it is not. They delete for effect...if a "troll" as they call posters who are not leftists get the better of the liberals on a string...delete time.
The site groupies have a lemming mindset and walk jack step. All of the hated people they call liars and even say should be "eliminated from society" are:
Christians, old people, people who are not college grads, American Indians, anyone that is registered other than democrat, pro life, person who do not favor homosexual super rights, etc. If you would like to see how far the left has traveled down the road of misinformation take a ride over to the hounds and see...

Thanks for the referrals to our site but FYI, we have NEVER received any money from George Soros. Also, while I will be the first to admit that some of our regular readers can get out of hand, we never delete anyone for having an opposing view. The trolls are there to disrupt the discussions. If you're not a regular, you might not recognize them. But the same people come back again and again, with nothing to add to the discussion beyond trying to inflame. Lastly, I read every comment on my threads (though I do miss some inadvertently) and I have NEVER seen our regular say that people should be eliminated from society... Except the trolls who say I should. Ellen of www.newshounds.us

I have read all the posts and news today on global warming and have added it to my list of doomsday topics but life goes on while smarter than I will have to sort out the tree rings of global climate change. A lot of my fellow conservatives do not like George Soros and perhaps for good reasons but I think the following quote holds true on this subject...
"Mankind’s power over nature has increased cumulatively
while its ability to govern itself has not kept pace. There is no
other country that can take the place of the United States in
the foreseeable future. If the United States fails to provide
the right kind of leadership our civilization may destroy itself.
That is the unpleasant reality that confronts us."
I spent a lot of today reading this author and find him to be honorable in his approach to the worlds problems. He calls himself a "stateless statesman" and my readings show that he has dedicated his life to the cause as he sees it. He is 75 years old. I would differ from him in that from my perspective I am fond of my country as it its and do not want the blanket of Globalism over it. On the other hand it seems the world is fast approaching the time when only a joint effort of governments can police the threat of atomic disasters.
Some insiders are going to get filthy rich off the United Nations Global Warming Cleanup and they will have friends on both sides of the congressional isle.
Global warming is the topic of the day but bigger problems lie with the right of all to freedom of speech and opinion.
Keep the internet free and cherish your opinions.

WASHINGTON -- The day after President George W. Bush asked Congress and the country for patience in allowing his proposed troop surge to succeed in Iraq, a Senate panel took a different tack.
By a 12-9 vote largely along party lines the Senate Armed Services committee passed a non-binding resolution, which declares that the deployment of additional troops to Iraq is "not in the national interest."

The Democratic party needs to understand and take responsibility for the fact that al-Qaeda is listening to their words and are using them to accomplish what they cannot accomplish without the Democrats help. They need to understand the ramifications of their actions and their words. The demoralizing affect their comments have on our troops, the amount of disrespect they show for our president and their lack of backbone to get the job that needs to be done, finished.

Prince al-Walid bin Talal
A Saudi prince who owns shares of the Fox News Channel claims he persuaded network chief Rupert Murdoch to change a screen banner during a broadcast that identified the recent unrest in France as "Muslim riots."
Speaking on a panel at the Arab and World Media Conference in Dubai Monday, billionaire Prince al-Walid bin Talal criticized U.S. media for being generally "pro-Israel" and said Arabs are not doing enough to counter that, according to Middle East Online.
Fair and balanced except on Muslim news

A massive public relations and lobbyist campaign with money to burn hovers over Washington DC 24/7 to keep away those who would look at the attack on our country by Saudi citizens funded, trained and cheered on by the Royal family in Saudi Arabia. The royals maintain close monetary ties with President Bush and Past President Clinton and others in our leadership. The advertising public relations firm listed below is staffed by former press presidential insiders. As noted below the pr firm was raided by the FBI in 2004 but no action was taken. The radical Muslim schools that advocate destruction of Israel and by inference and action the United States of America are funded openly by Saudi royal money. This threat to our security and the security of our posterity must be eliminated. Some times in history there are clearly enemies of freedom and hope that must be eliminated. The Kingdom/serfdom of Saudi Arabia should be given the same attention for taking American blood that Japan received but with more megatons!

The central institution of the Saudi Arabian government is the Saudi monarchy. The Basic Law of Government adopted in 1992 declared that Saudi Arabia is a monarchy ruled by the sons and grandsons of the first king, Abd Al Aziz Al Saud, and that the Qur'an is the constitution of the country, which is governed on the basis of Islamic law (Shari'a) [1].
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. There are no recognized political parties or national elections, except the local elections which were held in the year 2005. The king's powers are theoretically limited within the bounds of Shari'a and other Saudi traditions. He also must retain a consensus of the Saudi royal family, religious leaders (ulema), and other important elements in Saudi society. The Saudi government spreads Islam by funding construction of mosques and Qur'an schools around the world. The leading members of the royal family choose the king from among themselves with the subsequent approval of the ulema.

WE WERE ATTACKED AND WE DID NOT RETALATE
9/11 represented betrayal by two of America's allies, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Through its powerful intelligence service, Pakistan basically created the Taliban in Afghanistan, and its agents stationed around that country cooperated with Al Qaeda. It ignored the Taliban's support of Al Qaeda. There is little doubt that members of Pakistani intelligence knew that 9/11 was going to happen, including the details. But today, Pakistan is our best friend in the region, receiving a significant increase in U.S. aid. So,don't go there.
The Pakistani role in all of this pales in comparison to the involvement of Saudi Arabia. Saudis are clearly the major funding source for Al Qaeda. In fact, the person who helped create Al Qaeda was Prince Turki, who at the time was the head of Saudi intelligence. He participated in the recruitment of Osama Bin Laden, along with other Islamic fundamentalists, to go to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight against the Soviets. And what were the consequences for Prince Turki? Last year he was welcomed as the new Saudi ambassador to the United States.
TRAITORS IN OUR MIDST
Michael J. Petruzzello / Managing Partner, Qorvis Communications
by David Mark
By any reasonable standard, Saudi Arabia should be considered a medieval, Taliban-esque dictatorship. The "kingdom" squelches women's rights, promotes an extremist brand of Islamic religious law, fosters anti-Semitism in its official press, and exports jihadist homicide bombers against U.S. targets.
Yet the image the Saudis present to America is strikingly different-one of a benign, religiously pious ally in the War on Terror. The Bush family perpetrates that fraud, kissing up, literally, to Saudi Arabia's oil-rich rulers. During his post-presidency, Bush 41 served as a well-compensated rainmaker for the Saudi-funded Carlyle Group, and who can forget the spectacle of the normally macho Bush 43 strolling hand-in-hand with Crown Prince Abdullah during the despot's 2005 visit to the President's Texas ranch?
But the Bushes have had help creating this charade. Michael J. Petruzzello, managing partner of the Saudis' PR firm, Qorvis Communications, lobbies Congress on behalf of his client-state's interests and tries to whitewash their public profile in the media.
It would not be a stretch to call the firm's remuneration legal blood money, considering that 15 of the 19 September 11 hijackers were Saudis, as are many insurgents in Iraq.
Qorvis often uses surreptitious means to cover for the Saudi's backward-looking regime. The Justice Department once investi-gated a radio ad campaign Qorvis put together for a sham group whose spots advocated a "fair plan" for a Middle East peace settlement, but really talked up the Saudi government. The company has also offered to pay academics and former diplomats handsomely to speak up on behalf of Saudi interests.
These efforts have proved a tough sell for Qorvis' own staff. In December 2002 three firm partners quit amid what The New York Times called "a deep discomfort in representing the government of Saudi Arabia against accusations that Saudi leaders have turned a blind eye to terrorism."
Qorvis continues to shill on behalf of the Saudi monarchy. O'Dwyer's Newsletter reported that the Saudis paid the firm $3.6 million during the six-month period ending in March 2006. In return, Qorvis set up a "listening tour" for Ambassador Prince Turki Al-Faisal. The firm also helped get editorial board meetings for the Ambassador with the Los Angeles Times, CNN and the New York Times. Those contacts put the Saudis in a position to propagandize on behalf of Hezbollah during its summer attacks on Israeli civilian targets.

Pardons For Drug Dealers, Jail For Border Patrol Agents
President George W. Bush has pardoned 14 criminals, including several drug dealers and a man convicted for bombing a coal mine, but he refused to pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents sentenced to prison for intercepting an illegal immigrant drug smuggler at the Texas-Mexico border last year.
Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were guarding the Mexican border near El Paso in February 2005 when they intercepted a van loaded with 743 pounds of marijuana.

Bill introduced by Democratic Senate Majority Leader cripples Internet bloggers

Death of Free Speech...
SENATE LOBBY LAW REGULATES BLOGGERS
One of the Democratic priorities for the new Congress was passage of a lobbyist reform bill, but the introduction of S.1 into the Senate has caused a veritable firestorm of controversy. That's because section 220 of the bill introduces disclosure requirements for "paid efforts to stimulate grassroots lobbying." The Traditional Values Coalition calls this section the "most expansive intrusion on First Amendment rights ever proposed in the United States Senate," while GrassrootsFreedom.com chairman Richard Viguerie says that if it passes, "We'd be living under totalitarianism, not democracy."

Poem of my youth...composed on October 23, 2006
Tracks of a friend in the snow
I have lain on the path of bone chilling fear ...
watched as the death angel hovered near ...
Midnight I rode the trail where black lion stalked ...
my steed snorting his course stayed.. balked ...
I lost my seat and the moon swirled around ...
my head was the first to kiss frozen ground ...
My body bounced down the Arbuckles crag ...
the earth drank my blood and there I laid ...
and dreamed the dream of death’s opening door ...
of life unlived and path’s untracked with joy untasted ...
my future my claim on living gone as I lay wasted ...
but awareness came as light chased away the night ...
My companion grazed close by had kept the cat away ...
snow tracks around my death bed testified to his stay ...
my shirt red soaked with life’s precious fluid staining the ground ...
I drug my pain racked body to the saddle and started down ...
past the still waiting mountain lion eyes peering from thick weeds ...
the smell of my blood kept him waiting to quench his savage needs ...
I looked back as he smelled my blood spilled in the snow where I lay ...
then followed us for awhile before turning to find unguarded prey ...
Danpatch went to equine heaven during the next season’s winter strife ...
But in my dreams I still count the tracks of my friend who saved my life.
