For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away,” he writes in 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
And a chapter later (2 Timothy 4:3-4) adds: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

This passage from the Bible words of truth needs no elaboration and is so clear and the parallels can be drawn by a prayerful comparison to the personalities and their words on our nightly news in the year of our Lord two thousand and eight.

An asterisk (*) is a typographical symbol or glyph. It is so called because it resembles a conventional image of a star (Latin astrum). Computer scientists and mathematicians often pronounce it as star (as, for example, in the A* search algorithm or C* algebra).

The asterisk is derived from the need of the printers of family trees in feudal times as a symbol to indicate date of birth. The original shape was six-armed, each arm like a teardrop shooting from the center. Many cultures have their own unique version of the asterisk. In Japan a character with a similar use (※) looks like an X with dots surrounding it. He loves playing one off the other, using one to hide the other even as the traces of the truth may be assembled to reveal the whole cloth of deception and self-promotion he has been weaving so skillfully since his childhood. No wonder he is a man of change. He IS a changeling, a veritable chameleon, adapting and amending his life story to fit the circumstances.

She used to say to me.."FG...I just don't understand why you are not a Democrat and left the Church of Christ...my goodness what has happened to you son. We have always been Democrats and Cambellites!"

As always I would try to explain that I still had my roots as a Harry Truman democrat and only parted ways with the Democrats over perversion as an acceptable desirable life style and abortion as a means of birth control and that I had come to believe that Alexander Campbell's theology was flawed although I had no doubts Saint Peter would welcome his followers thru the Pearly Gates.

The old song says "mama went a walkin" and she is now looking down on a a vastly changed political landscape. I wonder what she would think of the Democrats nominee in 2008...I can only wonder...she was tho ...a good and godly Christian woman.

If you took all the money that was thrown don the SSA toilet and had invested it the seniors would be drawing adequate retirement benefits instead of food stamp qualified poverty.

The business community was bullied into submission by the educators' lawyers and paid the inflated fees for the logos and art their taxes had financed. The public was stuck with their favorite teams sportswear and other logoed wear at five times the normal price. The rights to art, logos, literary creations and inventions developed at taxpayer expense belong to the taxpayer and not the paid employees of our public institutions. According to a shrinking number of academic and professional “experts” sexual orientation is not something one can change. Some of the major studies reflecting these opinions have been done, of course, by the homosexuals themselves.Ever since the 1970s, most psychotherapists have been telling the American public that homosexuality is a genetic condition, like being right-handed or left-handed. According to these “experts,” sexual orientation is not something one can change. Some of the major studies reflecting these opinions have been done, of course, by the homosexuals themselves.Accordingly, the standard line of psycho-dribble is that “gays” must learn to accept their identity. Some schools are now offering courses to young homosexuals with this very goal in view. There are on-campus organizations whose aim is to help young “gays” learn to live with their status – and even to have “pride” in it. This view finds no support whatever in the Scriptures. In fact, the Bible plainly contradicts this concept. Consider two points:First, no genetic problem is ever condemned in the Bible as sinful. Being left-handed is not wrong. Having red hair is not a sin. Baldness is not a form of evil. On the other hand, homosexual activity is explicitly condemned in the Scriptures.In the book of Romans, Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote:“For this reason God gave them [the ancient heathen] over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error” (1:26-27 – NASB).The homosexual lifestyle is degrading, unnatural (cf. “strange” Jude 7), and indecent – in a word, sinful.Moreover, in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, the apostle dealt with several popular sins which, if not forgiven, will keep one out of the kingdom of God. Among these are the “effeminate” and the “abusers of themselves with men” (ASV). The term “effeminate” translates a Greek word which denotes “men and boys who allow themselves to be misused homosexually.” The special emphasis is upon homosexual conduct between men and boys. The latter expression (“abusers. . . “) signifies “a male homosexual” in general (see Wm. Arndt & F.W. Gingrich, A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, Chicago: University of Chicago, 1967, pp. 109, 489).Second, consider this: In addressing the Corinthians concerning these sins, Paul wrote: “But such were some of you” (6:11). The past tense form reveals that those who once engaged in this sordid lifestyle had changed their practice through the influence of the gospel. When people desire to do so, they can change!

My wife and I drove past the Murrah building and the rental truck at 5 minutes to 9am on the fatal day. My business "Pager Mart" was located then on West Main at Classen and we had just paid my phone bill at the corner of Broadway and 9th street (the time on the receipt from SW Bell was 8:52). She dropped me off at the shop and a customer was waiting on me. As we entered my shop the bomb went off. We ran outside and saw the smoke coming from over the police station which we thought had been hit. My customer was an RN and we jumped in his pickup and headed toward the smoke. As we neared the Murrah we met several wounded and bleeding older people and drug them into the pickup bed and I stayed in back holding them in because they were addled. We took wounded to Saint Anthony and the Doctors and Nurses a hundred strong waived us in and took the wounded. It was a day when Oklahoma City stood tall.
We both received letters of commendation from the Mayor and City Council which adorn my office. I can still well up tears for that dark day and the crying souls at the Murrah wreckage frantically searching for loved ones.

My daughter bought a home recently that a mother never came home to and her husband planted a Survivor tree clone in the front yard. It is an honor to have it there.
